When you talk about going down into a lost gold mine, you gotta ask
yourself "Is it worth it?
How much do you think is down there, anyway?"
And we have asked that question and we have listened to
the material and we have come up with the answer . . . A lot.
This CD represents a gleaning of the surface, leaning towards
upbeat rockers and favorites from the dance floor. Leaning
towards the later days of the band. But there is much more material.
In the 1980s Pacific Northwest, some rock critics thought Variant Cause
had a sound ten years ahead of its time. Others thought the group was a
decade too late. Twenty years later, Variant Cause careens headlong into
21st Century rock.
